AUGMENTED REALITY

SOLUTIONS FOR RECOGNISING ELEMENTS IN THE REAL WORLD AND TRANSLATING THEM INTO DIGITAL CONTENT

Augmented Reality means the enrichment of human sensory perception by manipulated and electronically-conveyed information that would otherwise not be perceived by the five senses.

Elements that augment (or "increase") the reality can be added via a mobile device, such as a smartphone or a PC equipped with a webcam, adding multimedia information to the reality that is already perceived by the viewer.

By then focusing on a photograph, a pamphlet, a book or an object, the augmented reality-based system will recognise the image of reference and overlay virtual content.

"Additional" information may also consist in decreasing the amount of information normally perceptible by the senses, always in order to present a clearer, more useful or more enjoyable situation. This is also AR.
